Michel Abrogoua

Founder and Managing Partner, MBA

Michel Abrogoua is Founder and Managing Partner of PCM Capital Partners. Michel has over 30 years of experience in African regional investments and following stints with IBM, France and the International Finance Corporation (IFC, Washington) began his fund management career in 1997 with AXA Framlington in Abidjan, where he was responsible for all operations in West and Central Africa. While at Framlignton he managed the West Africa Growth Fund, a regional private equity fund with AUM of $28 million and actively participated in the structuring of the Central Africa Growth Fund, a €25 million regional private equity fund. Michel was also responsible for establishing AXA Framlington’s offices in both West and Central Africa. In 2005 he joined Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) as a Regional Director and was in charge of overall investment for the West African region until he left to set up PCM Capital Partners. Michel has a Master’s degree in Economics with distinction from the University of Abidjan and an MBA (Finance & Banking) from  Adelphi University in New York. He was awarded the Delta Mu Delta Gold Key in recognition of his exceptional scholastic achievement.  Michel is fluent in French and English.

J. Mawuli Ababio

Partner, MA

Mawuli Ababio has over 25 years of experience in structuring project finance and private equity transactions in Africa. He has worked for international financial institutions such as BNP Paribas SIFIDA, Geneva, the African Development Bank, Abidjan and the Commonwealth Development Corporation ("CDC"), London. He was CDC’s first Ghanaian Private Equity Fund Manager and successfully invested their first investment fund in several profitable SMEs in Ghana. In 1999 he co-founded his own investment banking firm which was involved in several privatization and corporate finance transactions in Ghana, eventually owning a leading micro finance business. He has been actively involved in the Ghanaian financial sector over the last 15 years and has participated in several fund raising exercises for private sector clients. He has served as a Non Executive Director of several companies and financial institutions in Ghana. Mawuli has a sound knowledge of the African financial sector and until 2010, was Managing Director of the Africa Venture Capital Association (AVCA). He has worked closely with Michel Abrogoua over the last decade in setting up and fund raising for the West Africa Emerging Markets Growth Fund. Mawuli holds BA and MA degrees in Economics and International Business from the Universities of Keele and Reading, UK respectively. He is fluent in both English and French.

Jean-Michel Kamanan

Investment Director, B.Sc

Jean-Michel Kamanan is an Investment Principal at PCM Capital Partners. Jean-Michel started his career in 2004 as a Credit Analyst in the West Africa regional office of Barclays Africa in Ghana where he participated in financing transactions for companies based in French speaking West Africa. He also worked on market research towards the planned expansion of Barclays Bank into the UEMOA and CEMAC zones. From 2006 to 2008, he was a Corporate Finance Officer at EDC Investment Corporation (the investment banking affiliate of the Ecobank Group). At EDC he was responsible for analyzing and structuring financial transactions (syndicated loans, project finance and financial restructurings). He also worked on structuring and placement of corporate bonds on the regional financial market. Jean-Michel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Legon. He has attended several Corporate Finance and Private Equity courses organised by international institutions such as Euromoney, International Finance Faculty (IFF) and AVCA. He is fluent in French and English.

Gabriel Yepidan

Financial Controller, MA

Gabriel has more than 15 years of experience in Accounting, Audit & Finance. He started his career in 1999 at PricewaterhouseCoopers Côte d’Ivoire, where he served in auditing & accounting roles, in various companies and sectors, in the West African Region. From 2004 to 2014, Gabriel held various managerial positions, in particular accounting, controls, audit, payroll, business controls, and financial operations, at West Africa Esmisa (subsidiary of Gallina Blanca Star group) in the agribusiness and food sectors. He had an oversight for the Company's operations in all Central and Western Africa as well as Middle Eastern Region. Gabriel Yepidan holds a Master’s degree in Finance & Accounting from Intec Paris. He is fluent in French, English and Spanish.

Jospeh Sie

Financial Analyst, M.Sc

Joseph Sie joined PCM Capital Partners in September 2014 as Financial Analyst. Joseph’s responsibilities include performing financial analysis on both potential and existing investments using standard company valuation techniques, as well as supporting all aspects of deal execution such as due diligence and legal documentation reviews. Prior to PCP, joseph worked with Deloitte Ivory Coast as an analyst, where he advised clients such as investment/PE funds in new technology, pharmaceuticals and food and beverages sectors within West Africa. Joseph began his career occupying various roles in finance, having worked with Schneider Electric and Suez Environnement both in France, and then subsequently in Bolloré Africa Logistics. Joseph holds a Masters in Management with a specialization in Corporate Finance from SKEMA Business School in Paris-Nice in France and a Research Masters in Chemistry from the University of Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.

Kwabena Asafu-Adjei

Financial Analyst, MA

Based in Accra, Kwabena joined PCM Capital Partners in October 2014 as a Financial Analyst. Kwabena’s core responsibilities at PCP include investment appraisals, conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities and management of the company’s portfolio across all sectors in Anglophone West Africa. He is also involved in performing financial analysis on both potential and existing investments as well as supporting all aspects of deal execution. Prior to joining PCP, Kwabena worked with IC Securities Limited in Ghana where he focused on Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) as well as M&A advisory deals. His responsibilities included preparation of pitch books and financial modeling for potential investors on behalf of clients. Kwabena began his finance career with stints at New World Renaissance Securities, Ecobank Development Corporation and the financial institutions unit of Standard Chartered Bank’s wholesale banking arm in Ghana. Kwabena graduated from Washington College in Maryland with a double major in Economics and Business Management and an MA in Financial Economics from the American University in Washington D.C. He is also a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International Economics Honor Society and the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
